Gene Description ASNS, asparagine synthetase (glutamine-hydrolyzing), encodes an enzyme that converts aspartate to asparagine and glutamine to glutamate in an ATP-dependent process (PMID: 29084849, PMID: 16756505) and associates with mitotic spindles in the centrosome during cell division (PMID: 30464009). Decreased ASNS expression has been observed in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 17380207) and pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PMID: 22513289).
