Gene Description UNC13C, unc-13 homolog C, is a presynaptic protein that mediates fast coupling in neuronal synapses and plays a role in the regulation of neurotransmitter release (PMID: 30697148), and inhibits epithelial-mesenchymal transition and invasion in tumor cells (PMID: 31440468). UNC13C mutations have been identified in gingivo-buccal oral squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 24292195), and decreased Unc13c expression has been identified in oral squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 31440468).
