| Gene Description | ASS1, argininosuccinate synthase 1, is a urea cycle enzyme involved in arginine biosynthesis (PMID: 24453997, PMID: 27452468) and functions in nitrogen metabolism (PMID: 30573518). Decreased expression of ASS1 is associated with several tumor types, including melanoma, malignant pleural mesothelioma (PMID: 24453997, PMID: 27452468, PMID: 26560030), and pancreatic cancer (PMID: 31903153), and is downregulated under hypoxic conditions in tumor cells (PMID: 30573518). | ||||||||||
