Gene Description MYH9, myosin heavy chain 9, encodes the heavy chain of non-muscle myosin of class II isoform A (PMID: 29679756) and is an actin motor protein involved in cytokinesis, protein transport, and organ development (PMID: 25098841). MYH9 has been associated with lymphoma and its expression is associated with poor prognosis in several types of carcinomas (PMID: 24436421, PMID: 21951916, PMID: 25826333, PMID: 12800156, PMID: 30739906), including overexpression in ovarian cancer (PMID: 31423165), and Myh9 mutations have been reported in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 29679756).
