Gene Description

MYH11, myosin heavy chain 11, smooth muscle, encodes for the myosin heavy chain protein that plays a role in the contractility of smooth muscle (PMID: 21937134). MYH11 fusions with CBFB (CBFB-MYH11) have been frequently found in acute myleoid leukemia (PMID: 14736823, PMID: 31353165), MYH11 frameshift mutations have been observed in gastric and colorectal cancers (PMID: 29517504), and decreased Myh11 expression in lung cancer has been associated with poor prognosis (PMID: 32382337).

Downloadable data from CKB is available using the FLEX version. CKB FLEX delivers CKB content as a flat file or JSON, enabling CKB data integration.
