Gene Description NFKB2, nuclear factor kappa B subunit 2, is a component of the NF-kappa-B complex that is involved in transcriptional regulation of a number of cellular processes including inflammation, immunity, and apoptosis (PMID: 29874793), and plays a role in inhibiting the canonical NF-kB signaling pathway (PMID: 25349408). Overexpression of Nfkb2 has been observed in multiple myeloma (PMID: 17692805), prostate (PMID: 20388792), breast (PMID: 27404455), and pancreatic cancers (PMID: 25473891), while NFKB2 mutations have been associated with non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 29588475), and a NFKB2-TYK2 fusion has been identified in anaplastic large cell lymphoma (PMID: 25873174).
