Gene Description NUP98, nucleoporin 98 and 96 precursor, forms part of the nuclear pore complex, which functions in transport across the nuclear membrane, and also plays a role in transcriptional regulation (PMID: 19577736, PMID: 21948299, PMID: 27889185) and regulation of histone methylation (PMID: 29284709). NUP98 fusions have been demonstrated in hematological malignancies, including acute myeloid leukemia (PMID: 19577736, PMID: 21948299, PMID: 27889185, PMID: 31558671) and acute promyelocytic leukemia (PMID: 32242976).
