| Gene Description | PARN, poly(A)-specific ribonuclease, encodes a deadenylase with 3'-5' exonuclease activity (PMID: 23496118) that interacts with the 5' cap on polyadenylated RNA substrates (PMID: 10882133) and plays a role in poly(A) tail shortening (PMID: 9099687), maturation of TERC (PMID: 26482878), and 18S rRNA maturation (PMID: 28402503, PMID: 27899605). Increased expression of PARN has been identified in esophageal cancer (PMID: 37664151) and gastric cancer (PMID: 25499764). | ||||||||||||
