Gene Description PBX1, PBX homeobox 1, is a transcription factor that is involved in regulating the development of many processes such as hematopoiesis, skeleton patterning, and organogenesis of the pancreas and urogenital systems (PMID: 22125492). An EWSR1-PBX1 fusion has been identified in myoepithelioma (PMID: 18383210, PMID: 20815032), a TCF3-PBX1 fusion has been identified in B-lymphoblastic lymphoma (PMID: 27758892, PMID: 30563523, PMID: 31828595), and an E2A-PBX1 fusion has been reported in acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 32276273), and Pbx1 overexpression has been observed in luminal B subtype breast cancer (PMID: 32216630).
