Gene Description PCNA, proliferating cell nuclear antigen, plays an important role in diverse cellular functions, including DNA replication, repair, regulation of cell cycle, chromatin assembly, and transcription, and undergoes post-translational modifications and interacts with multiple proteins (PMID: 24655521, PMID: 19442257, PMID: 9038370). Overexpression of Pcna has been demonstrated in prostate adenocarcinoma (PMID: 21031434), and is associated with reduced survival in colorectal cancer (PMID: 8095852).
