Gene Symbol LEF1
Synonyms LEF-1 | TCF10 | TCF1ALPHA | TCF7L3
Gene Description LEF1, lymphoid enhancer binding factor 1, is a high mobility group transcription factor involved in regulation of Wnt/Beta-catenin signaling through interaction with beta-catenin (PMID: 10756202, PMID: 28670499), and plays a role in T cell development (PMID: 10756202), including transcriptional activation of the natural killer T-cell memory program (PMID: 36484736), and stem cell maintenance and epithelial-mesenchymal transition (PMID: 28670499). LEF1 mutations have been identified in pediatric T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 20124220), adult acute lymphoblastic leukemia (PMID: 25942645), and sebaceous tumors (PMID: 16565724).
