Gene Description HIKESHI, heat shock protein nuclear import factor hikeshi, encodes a protein responsible for the nuclear import of ATP-bound Hsp70 proteins, thereby playing a role in the protection of cells from heat shock damage (PMID: 26523678, PMID: 22541429). Increased expression of HIKESHI has been identified in gastric cancer (PMID: 28731175).
