| Gene Description | PDK1, pyruvate dehydrogenase kinase 1, plays a role in metabolism regulation through phosphorylation of pyruvate dehydrogenase, resulting in inhibition of the pyruvate dehydrogenase complex, which functions in conversion of pyruvate to acetyl-CoA (PMID: 18541534, PMID: 24904893, PMID: 25868605). PDK1 overexpression has been demonstrated in several tumor types, including ovarian cancer (PMID: 28617852, PMID: 32071289), retinoblastoma (PMID: 28505181), hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 32197467), and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PMID: 30912195). | ||||||||||||
