Gene Description SUFU, SUFU negative regulator of hedgehog signaling, negatively regulates hedgehog signaling via association with Gli proteins, resulting in inactivity of Gli and thereby, preventing its transcriptional activity (PMID: 20360384). SUFU loss has been associated with medulloblastoma (PMID: 30554998) and rhabdomyosarcoma (PMID: 27234298), and somatic SUFU mutations have been identified in prostate cancer (PMID: 15482598).
