Gene Description PDYN, prodynorphin, is a neuropeptide precursor protein that is processed into alpha-neoendorphin and dynorphins A and B, playing a role in glutamatergic signaling, neuron excitability, neuronal motor performance (PMID: 26169942), pain response (PMID: 25663984), and addiction (PMID: 23101464). Expression of Pdyn has been observed in pheochromocytoma (PMID: 2895797).
