Gene Description | PLCG1, phospholipase C gamma 1, is an isoenzyme and a major subtype of phospholipase C, which catalyzes the conversion of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (PIP2) to inositol-1,4,5-triphosphate (IP3) and diacylglycerol (DAG), interacts with other proteins to mediate signal transduction, and plays an important role in the synaptic function and plasticity of neurons (PMID: 29174396, PMID: 7492569). Mutations, deletions, and amplifications of PLCG1 have been identified in various tumor types (PMID: 29174396), and overexpression has been identified in solid tumors, including breast (PMID: 1683701), colorectal (PMID: 8275435), and gastric cancers (PMID: 25308733). | ||||||||||
