| Gene Description | SAMD9, sterile alpha motif domain containing 9, interacts with the Ras effector protein RGL2 to regulate EGR1 (PMID: 21160498), and plays a role in regulating cell proliferation, protein synthesis, DNA repair, and apoptosis (PMID: 17407603, PMID: 28346228, PMID: 33731850). SAMD9 mutations have been identified in patients with myelodysplastic syndrome (PMID: 34621053, PMID: 30322869), and decreased SAMD9 expression has been observed in several cancer types including desmoid tumor, colon cancer, breast cancer (PMID: 17407603), and non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 25450373). | ||||||||||
