| Gene Description | PPP3CA, protein phosphatase 3 catalytic subunit alpha, encodes the catalytic unit of calcineurin, a calcium-regulated serine/threonine phosphatase (PMID: 32859215) that regulates gene transcription (PMID: 31415762, PMID: 38926604) and stability of signaling proteins (PMID: 36525928, PMID: 34711683), and plays a role in T-cell function (PMID: 11981809, PMID: 27941787), cell survival (PMID: 35163061, PMID: 7593193), bone remodeling (PMID: 17872390), and neurodevelopment (PMID: 28942967, PMID: 39305655). PPP3CA mutations have been identified in lung adenocarcinoma (PMID: 27158780), and increased expression of Ppp3ca has been observed in pancreatic cancer (PMID: 33270085) and astrocytoma (PMID: 23839947). | ||||||||||||
