Gene Description

CHD7, chromodomain helicase DNA binding protein 7, encodes an ATP-dependent chromatin remodeling enzyme that plays a role in regulating gene expression in embryonic stem cells during development (PMID: 20657823), neural crest formation (PMID: 20130577), neural progenitors in the central nervous system (PMID: 30108144, PMID: 29440260, PMID: 26928066), and ribosomal RNA biogenesis (PMID: 20591827). Increased CHD7 expression has been observed in glioma (PMID: 30850678) and breast cancer (PMID: 28649742), and a fusion with BEND2 has been identified in a pancreatic neuroendocrine tumor (PMID: 31160355).

The web-based, subscription version, CKB BOOST™, includes more than 2000 cancer-related genes and is designed to interrogate the knowledgebase for specific data attributes while enabling a robust browse-like feature when the desired content is unknown.

Downloadable data from CKB is available using the FLEX version. CKB FLEX delivers CKB content as a flat file or JSON, enabling CKB data integration.
