Gene Description PRKCI, protein kinase C iota, is an atypical protein kinase family member that plays a role in cell proliferation and survival, and acts as an oncogene in human cancer to promote cellular transformation (PMID: 17570678, PMID: 24231509). PRKCI amplification has been demonstrated in several tumor types (PMID: 17570678), including ovarian serous carcinoma (PMID: 28698296) and esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 17990328).
