Gene Symbol AICDA
Synonyms AID | ARP2 | CDA2 | HEL-S-284 | HIGM2
Gene Description AICDA, activation induced cytidine deaminase, is part of the cytidine deaminase family and regulates antigen receptor diversification and maturation of the humoral immune response through rearrangement of immunoglobulin genes by class-switching recombination and somatic hypermutation of immunoglobulin genes in B-cells (PMID: 32162335, PMID: 31127309, PMID: 31092637). Mutations in AICDA are associated with lymphoma, leukemia, and GIST (PMID: 23181381) and overexpression has been observed in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (PMID: 30814061, PMID: 28388279).
