| Gene Description | PTGS2, prostaglandin-endoperoxide synthase 2, encodes an cyclooxygenase that is responsible for catalyzing the first step in the synthesis of prostaglandins upon induction via inflammatory stimuli within macrophages, thereby playing a key role in the immune response (PMID: 15173859, PMID: 25619459). PTGS2 overexpression has been observed in several tumor types including colorectal cancer, liver cancer, pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, and lung cancer (PMID: 26549987). | ||||||||||
