Gene Description

MTA3, metastasis associated 1 family member 3, is a component of the nucleosome remodeling and deacetylation (NuRD) complex involved in transcriptional corepression, cell growth, and epithelial-to-mesenchymal transition (PMID: 28279208, PMID: 26869315). Decreased MTA3 expression has been identified in gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma (PMID: 23671646), glioma (PMID: 26002011), tongue squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 31552166), and endometriod adenocarcinoma (PMID: 20865667), increased expression has been identified in non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 24107548), and an MTA3-ALK fusion has been identified in non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 35042152).
