| Gene Description | XPO5, exportin 5, is a member of the karyopherin family of proteins that mediates the nuclear export of double-stranded RNA-binding proteins and miRNAs (PMID: 11777942, PMID: 14681208, PMID: 29723684), and plays a role in cell cycle progression (PMID: 23431327). An XPO5-CHST9 fusion has been identified in anaplastic thyroid carcinoma (PMID: 34944959), XPO5 mutations and altered expression levels have been identified in multiple tumor types (PMID: 29699373), including increased expression in prostate cancer (PMID: 28881308) and colorectal cancer (PMID: 27553833), and decreased expression in hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 27000860). | ||||||||||||
