| Gene Description | PTPN1, protein tyrosine phosphatase non-receptor type 1, dephosphorylates protein substrates to regulate signaling involved in multiple cellular processes including proliferation, survival, and glucose metabolism, and has both tumor suppressor and promoter functions (PMID: 19782770, PMID: 27855221, PMID: 16198645). PTPN1 mutations have been demonstrated in thyroid and colon cancers, as well as B-cell and Hodgkin lymphomas (PMID: 27855221, PMID: 24531327) and overexpression has been associated with poor prognosis in glioma (PMID: 31173266). | ||||||||||
