Gene Description PURB, purine rich element binding protein B, is a DNA binding transcription factor that belongs to the Pur protein family and plays a role in DNA replication and transcription (PMID: 19496623). A PURB fusion with EGFR has been associated with lung adenocarcinoma and deletions of PURB have been linked to myelodysplastic syndrome (PMID: 11417483, PMID: 27102076) , and overexpression of Purb has been reported in acute myelogenous leukemia (PMID: 28834593).
