Gene Description | RAC1, Rac family small GTPase 1, is a member of the Rho-family small GTPases that is involved in diverse cellular activities through regulating actin dynamics (PMID: 14744429) and functions in cell proliferation, cell survival, epithelial mesenchymal transition, and cell motility (PMID: 32178475). RAC1 mutations have been identified in human cancers including melanoma, head and neck cancer, and prostate cancer (PMID: 27991930), and Rac1 may play a role in in resistance to chemotherapy in breast cancer (PMID: 32193458). | ||||||||||
