Gene Description RAC2, Rac family small GTPase 2, encodes a hematopoietic-specific GTPase that regulates phagocyte NADPH oxidase activity (PMID: 11224519, PMID: 11145705), and plays a role in various immune cell processes, including neutrophil migration (PMID: 10072071, PMID: 10961859, PMID: 14564009), survival and maintenance of B-lymphocytes (PMID: 14564011), and actin polymerization in T-lymphocytes (PMID: 11581314). RAC2 mutations have been identified in melanoma (PMID: 22817889) and increased expression of Rac2 has been identified in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (PMID: 31364727).
