| Gene Description | REST, RE1 silencing transcription factor, is a zinc finger transcriptional repressor involved in negative regulation of neuron-specific genes (PMID: 7697725), repression of neuronal differentiation (PMID: 19888342, PMID: 20351065), and maintenance of embryonic stem cell pluripotency (PMID: 18959480). Mutations in REST have been observed in familial Wilms tumor (PMID: 26551668), and altered expression of Rest has been observed in several tumor types including decreased expression in endometrial cancer (PMID: 39273639), cervical cancer (PMID: 35491677), breast cancer (PMID: 20564196), and cholangiocarcinoma (PMID: 29725406), and overexpression in glioma (PMID: 36810892) and medulloblastoma (PMID: 15767543). | ||||||||||||

Downloadable data from CKB is available using the FLEX version. CKB FLEX delivers CKB content as a
flat file or JSON, enabling CKB data integration.
