Gene Description RGS7, regulator of G protein signaling 7, encodes a member of the RGS family and is a GTPase accelerating protein that plays a role in mediating signal transduction through G protein receptors (PMID: 9572280, PMID: 12670932), including neuronal signaling (PMID: 10426315, PMID: 24755289) and phototransduction (PMID: 19797214, PMID: 22547806). RGS7 mutations have been identified in melanoma (PMID: 29330521).
