Gene Symbol RREB1
Synonyms FINB | HNT | LZ321 | RREB-1 | Zep-1
Gene Description RREB1, ras responsive element binding protein 1, is a zinc finger transcription factor, activated by the MAPK pathway, that regulates expression of several downstream targets, as a transcriptional repressor and transcriptional activator (PMID: 32210733), and may play a role in Ras signaling (PMID: 8816445, PMID: 24418439, PMID: 21703425). RREB1 overexpression has been demonstrated in colorectal cancer (PMID: 22751122), amplification of RREB1 has been reported in melanoma (PMID: 32210733), and a RREB1-TFE3 has been identified in myofibroblastic sarcoma (PMID: 21625565) and a RREB1-MRTFB fusion in ectomesenchymal chondromyxoid tumor (PMID: 31991003).
