Gene Description RRM1, ribonucleotide reductase catalytic subunit M1, encodes the catalytic subunit responsible for nucleotide binding and allosteric regulation of the ribonucleotide reductase, which catalyzes the conversion of ribonucleotides to deoxyribonucleotides (PMID: 1412696, PMID: 9309223). Decreased expression of RRM1 has been identified in metastatic colorectal cancer (PMID: 26553611), hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 26661118), and adrenocortical cancers (PMID: 26715866), and increased RRM1 expression has also been identified in multiple myeloma (PMID: 28442502).
