| Gene Description | SATB1, SATB homeobox 1, encodes a matrix attachment region-binding protein and transcription factor that maintains and compacts chromatin by organizing it into chromatin loops and regulates global gene expression (PMID: 17913490, PMID: 17173041, PMID: 12692553), and plays a role in hematopoietic stem cell differentiation (PMID: 23563689, PMID: 23791645) and T-lymphocyte development and differentiation (PMID: 21841785, PMID: 10716941, PMID: 27992401). A SATB1-RET fusion has been identified in pancreatic acinar cell carcinoma (PMID: 38039431) and overexpression of SATB1 has been observed in several tumor types (PMID: 31450715) including breast cancer (PMID: 25956130), colorectal cancer (PMID: 21870058), and gastric cancer (PMID: 20811679). | ||||||||||
