Gene Description CXCL11, C-X-C motif chemokine ligand 11, is a member of the CXC chemokine family that is regulated by several IFN family members, including IFN-gamma (PMID: 16081539, PMID: 9625760, PMID: 17142784) and acts through the CXCR3 receptor to recruit immune cells such as T cells, natural killer cells, monocytes, and macrophages during inflammation (PMID: 9625760, PMID: 23012327, PMID: 29207310). CXCL11 has been found to be overexpressed in several cancer types including breast cancer (PMID: 26639244), rhabdomyosarcoma (PMID: 26037167), and prostate adenocarcinoma (PMID: 22247499), and a fusion with AKT2 and CXCL11 has been identified in ovarian cancer (PMID: 29617662).
