| Gene Description | SMARCC2, SWI/SNF related BAF chromatin remodeling complex subunit C2, encodes a core component of the SWI/SNF complex (PMID: 10078207, PMID: 33024572), which functions in modulating chromatin accessibility to regulate gene transcription (PMID: 33558760, PMID: 31427792, PMID: 30814119), and plays a role in regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation (PMID: 26655900, PMID: 33750945, PMID: 30814119), and in tumor suppression (PMID: 33024572). SMARCC2 mutations have been identified in several tumor types (PMID: 42629553), including gastric cancer, colorectal cancer (PMID: 23030715), and pancreatic undifferentiated carcinoma (PMID: 34817661), and decreased expression of Smarcc2 has been observed in high grade glioma (PMID: 34080022). | ||||||||||||
