Gene Description SSRP1, structure specific recognition protein 1, is a histone chaperone and forms part of the facilitates chromatin transcription (FACT) complex to mediate DNA replication, DNA damage repair, apoptosis and cell cycle regulation (PMID: 29048646, PMID: 32165637). SSRP1 overexpression has been observed in glioma, where it may correlate with stage (PMID: 29048646), and in breast cancer (PMID: 28496363) and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 26755331).
