Gene Description ADAM17, ADAM metallopeptidase domain 17, is a member of the disintegrin and metalloprotease domain family, that functions in proteolytic processing of a number of membrane-bound substrates, including TNF-alpha and EGFR ligands, and plays a role in immunity, development, and inflammation (PMID: 31060243, PMID: 30992230). ADAM17 missense mutations have been observed in colon cancer (PMID: 31060243) and altered expression has been reported in lung cancer (PMID: 30833304).
