Gene Symbol MAP3K7
Synonyms CSCF | FMD2 | MEKK7 | TAK1 | TGF1a
Gene Description MAP3K7, mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase 7, is a serine-threonine kinase that mediates Tgf-beta (PMID: 8533096), NF-kappaB, and MAPK (PMID: 10094049) signaling, and is involved in diverse cellular functions including immune response (PMID: 16186825, PMID: 23664135), cell survival (PMID: 25146924), and carcinogenesis (PMID: 24443058). MAP3K7 mutations have been identified in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (PMID: 19412164), overexpression has been observed in multiple myeloma (PMID: 32273474), ovarian cancer (PMID: 25277189), and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 35053591), while decreased expression has been observed in prostate cancer (PMID: 25770290).
