Gene Description TAP1, transporter 1, ATP binding cassette subfamily B member, forms a complex with TAP2 (PMID: 10581370), and functions as an ATP-dependent peptide transporter (PMID: 8348620) that interacts with MHC class I dimers (PMID: 7809108), playing a role in antigenic peptide transport, processing, and presentation (PMID: 12366777, PMID: 10618714). Loss of TAP1 has been identified in non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 8546899) and overexpression of TAP1 has been identified in high grade breast carcinoma (PMID: 29091951).
