| Gene Description | ZIC1, Zic family zinc finger 1, is a transcription factor that plays a role in neural and cerebellar development (PMID: 29442326), bone homeostasis, and meningeal development (PMID: 29442325), and is a regulator of sonic hedgehog signaling, bone morphogenetic protein, and Notch signaling (PMID: 15207846). ZIC1 mutations have been identified in medulloblastoma (PMID: 39753768) and altered Zic1 expression has been identified in several tumor types, including increased expression in endometrial cancer (PMID: 26670443), meningioma (PMID: 20199689), and desmoid tumors (PMID: 17936758), and decreased expression in gastric cancer (PMID: 27177248), breast cancer (PMID: 29628984), and hepatocellular carcinoma (PMID: 24782033). | ||||||||||||
