Gene Description CA9, carbonic anhydrase 9, is a cell surface protein induced by hypoxia and plays a role in pH regulation leading to matrix remodeling and tumor metastasis (PMID: 28692057). Overexpression of Ca9 has been observed in a variety of solid tumors, including glioblastoma (PMID: 29263302), neuroblastoma (PMID: 22436629), breast cancer (PMID: 26648580), and non-small cell lung cancer (PMID: 32066909).
