Gene Description PAX8, paired-box 8, is a transcription factor, which is involved in the differentiation of multiple cell types including thyroid, kidney, and neural tube (PMID: 23868062). Expression of Pax8 has been associated with several cancer types including thyroid, renal, ovarian (PMID: 30096791, PMID: 31296958), and urothelial carcinoma (PMID: 31932679), while PAX8 fusions have been identified in thyroid cancers (PMID: 23425942, PMID: 31273314).
