Gene Description BRCC3, BRCA1/BRCA2-containing complex subunit 3, is a deubiquitinase that belongs to the JAMM/MPN+ family of zinc metalloproteases, which forms a component of the BRCA1-A and BRISC complexes and functions in regulation of DNA repair (PMID: 33142801, PMID: 31576005, PMID: 26001790), and inflammasome activity (PMID: 23246432). BRCC3 mutations have been identified in myelodysplastic syndromes, myelodysplastic/myeloproliferative neoplasms (PMID: 26001790), and acute myeloid leukemia (PMID: 31576005), and increased BRCC3 expression has been demonstrated in bladder cancer (PMID: 34604222).
