| Gene Description | ALPK1, alpha kinase 1, is a member of the atypical protein kinase family that plays a role in the trafficking of apical proteins and innate immunity via the regulation of TIFA oligomerization and IL-8 expression upon bacterial invasion (PMID: 15883161, PMID: 28877472). Overexpression of ALPK1 has been identified in oral squamous cell carcinoma (PMID: 30315765) while decreased expression has been observed in lung and colorectal cancers (PMID: 27283888), and mutations have been identified in various solid tumors, including spiradenoma and spiradenocarcinoma (PMID: 31101826), and lung, endometrial, and ovarian cancers (PMID: 27283888). | ||||||||||
