| Gene Description | ACTN4, actinin alpha 4, encodes an actin-binding protein that connects the cytoskeleton to focal adhesions (PMID: 9508771, PMID: 21085685) and plays a role in cell motility (PMID: 9508771, PMID: 21085685), cell adhesion (PMID: 17082197, PMID: 21085685), and cytokinesis (PMID: 22544326), and functions as a nuclear co-regulator of transcription (PMID: 27998979, PMID: 23482348). Alternate splice variants of ACTN4 have been identified in small cell lung cancer (PMID: 15122314, PMID: 25750325) and neuroendocrine tumors (PMID: 22887464, PMID: 32127958) and amplification of ACTN4 has been identified in several tumor types (PMID: 26288717), including pancreatic cancer (PMID: 18765526) and ovarian clear cell adenocarcinoma (PMID: 22348389). | ||||||||||
