| Gene Description | SLC7A5, solute carrier family 7 member 5, also referred to as LAT1, is a member of the L-type amino acid transporter (LAT) subfamily that mediates transport of neutral amino acids into and out of the cell (PMID: 11557028, PMID: 23506863), and plays a role in mTORC1 regulation and cell growth (PMID: 19203585). Overexpression of SLC7A5 has been observed in several tumor types (PMID: 26101697), including pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PMID: 22805328, PMID: 22813728), and breast cancer (PMID: 32458655, PMID: 34164526). | ||||||||||
