Gene Description H2BC17, H2B clustered histone 17, is a member of the histone H2B family of histone proteins that encodes a core component of the nucleosome (PMID: 12408966) and is involved in transcriptional regulation (PMID: 18675384). A fusion transcript of H2BC17 with OR2B6 has been identified in breast carcinoma (PMID: 29497600) and increased expression of H2BC17 has been identified in younger patients with breast cancer (PMID: 31772649).
