| Gene Description | SESN2, sestrin 2, is a TP53 target gene that inhibits mTOR/mTORC1 signaling (PMID: 18692468, PMID: 26449471) and regulates the accumulation of reactive oxygen species in response to genotoxic stress (PMID: 15105503), and plays a role in several cellular processes including cell viability and growth, autophagy, and apoptosis (PMID: 15105503, PMID: 26313705). Decreased expression of SESN2 has been observed in lung cancer (PMID: 31857853, PMID: 27186314), colorectal cancer (PMID: 25572852), and bladder cancer (PMID: 27171279). | ||||||||||
