Gene Description ABRAXAS1 (FAM175A), abraxas 1, BRCA1 A complex subunit, is a BRCA1-binding protein that plays a role in DNA repair and regulation of the G2/M cell cycle phase checkpoint (PMID: 17525340, PMID: 29497033). ABRAXAS1 variants have been identified in several breast cancer pedigrees (PMID: 22357538) and contribute to a small proportion of unexplained hereditary breast cancer cases (PMID: 27270457).
