Gene Description

HVCN1, hydrogen voltage gated channel 1, encodes a voltage-gated proton channel protein involved in regulating B-cell receptor signaling, production of reactive oxygen species, and immune cell proliferation, activation, and migration (PMID: 20139987, PMID: 20346427, PMID: 20961760). HVCN1 mutations have been observed in follicular lymphoma (PMID: 28064239, PMID: 30126979), overexpression of Hvcn1 has been identified in breast cancer (PMID: 22367212), colorectal cancer (PMID: 23940591), chronic lymphocytic leukemia (PMID: 20139987), and alternative expression of a short Hvcn1 isoform may contribute to progression of B-cell malignancies (PMID: 25425665).

The web-based, subscription version, CKB BOOST™, includes more than 2000 cancer-related genes and is designed to interrogate the knowledgebase for specific data attributes while enabling a robust browse-like feature when the desired content is unknown.

Downloadable data from CKB is available using the FLEX version. CKB FLEX delivers CKB content as a flat file or JSON, enabling CKB data integration.
